Christophe Cottet holds a PhD in economics on the indebtedness of developing countries and has been working in the field of international development for almost 20 years. He joined AFD in 2008 as a Country Risk Economist. He regularly follows and carries out missions in various countries around the Mediterranean (Morocco, Turkey), Africa and Asia (India and Vietnam). After working for the Ministry of Finance between 2013 and 2016 as Deputy Head of the Regional Economic Department in Nairobi, he joined AFD's Africa Department in Paris to set up a strategy and macroeconomics unit. He was appointed Director of AFD's Accra office in charge of Ghana and Liberia in 2020. He has been Director of AFD Tunis since September 2024.
